Anyone use it?
What do you like/dislike about it?
Going to give it a shot myself as an alternative to FireFox and see if I like it enough to change permanently.

I turned that off. So far I like it though. Loads much faster than FireFox and well just feels like a more comfortable and resource efficient browser to me. Been using since I posted and so far I like it.
It also doesn't have a memory leak like FireFox. :P

opera's good to.
Chrome is designed to be a light weight browser, unlike the others
if you want something more full featured then i recommend opera

you recommend safari for windows? who's the idiot now?
Inxile
May 30th, 2010, 08:44 AM
you....you realize that opera was built off of the same javascript engine as safari...its changed quite a bit now in opera 10+
and yes safari runs on windows as of 2007, kind of like ms word running on a mac huh?
A version of Safari for the Microsoft Windows operating system, first released on June 11, 2007, supports Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. The latest stable release of the browser is 4.0.5, which is available as a free download for both Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows. As of 2010, Safari was either the third or fourth most widely used browser, tied with Google Chrome.
Future development
On April 9, 2010 Apple announced WebKit2. This may be used in a future version of Safari.
"WebKit2 is designed from the ground up to support a split process model, where the Web content (JavaScript, HTML, layout, etc) lives in a separate process," wrote Apple developer Anders Carlsson to WebKit's public mailing list on April 8, 2010. "This model is similar to what Google Chrome offers, with the major difference being that we have built the process split model directly into the framework, allowing other clients to use it."
The "process split" model to which Carlsson refers is the architecture that enables processes spawned by the browser, including add-ons and Web apps, to be run as separate processes in the operating system while still being protected by the browser's sandbox. Google's Chromium team developed the first such model in working form for its Chrome browser
i also give safari props because its proved itself back before chrome, and apple actually does a decent job writing software. usually pretty solid code
god mexicans,
safari before chrome was the fastest browser.
opera much like IE, doesn't support all the newest css and html tags, and attributes to them...but IE 9 is going to support the new CSS and attributes, i read a dev blog article about it awhile back
firefox was good way back in the day when their was only like netscape, ie, and then along comes firefox which did things alot better then IE, and protected the user alittle better from malicious scripts and etc. so now becuase of hat, from then on ff marketshare grew, and ppl stuck with it, now its gotten far to bloated, its a big program, bigger then it needs to be.
the only reason its still important is for developers, they need to make sure their site is accessible to the biggest population of users, if you've ever done any web dev, you'll know its a pain, every browser likes to render html and css alittle differently, so you have to make it work for various browsers.....or what alot of ppl do is write pages separte for each browser, and then depending on the users browser get redirected to the page thats for that browser
tbh most tech genius's i know use IE and only IE, because their computer is set up properly security etc, and also because they know what their doing.
i don't even get virus's its all about the user, no browser or etc can prevent that completely

Nice.
I'm pretty much sticking with Chrome right now. It's noticeably faster than Mozilla FireFox which is a plus. Along with the security and all the features I need, plus being light weight makes it perfect. :)
The main reason I wanted to ditch FireFox was because of the memory leak that has yet to be fixed for while now. Not to mention all of the security holes I've been reading about.

btw not sure what you guys were talking about by it records personal information
were you talking about this
"Help make Google Chrome better by automatically sending usage statsitics and crash reports to Google."
cuz i dunno what your definition of personal information is but its anonymous data thats sent, and you know how many programs do that without even letting you know?
and for that rate if your so worried about it, stop searching google. Google alreadys has admitted to cacheing your searches, and all other data it collects off you from using their services. Google's policy is that they own that data, its their data to do with as they choose, sell to whoever, etc etc. and they do sell that information to marketing companies, its called data mining, Google isn't the only company that does it.
the information is usefull to marketing companies, ie they know what interests 19-24 years have, based on a pool of searches from that age group, etc etc or ppl interested in X are also interested in Y, so market your ad's for Y towards that group of X
you have no privacy over the internet these days, information is worth way to much.
also Chrome+OpenDNS = win thats my setup, my isp dns server is fucking slow. plus like any isp dns server they don't update it very fast, where as opendns does, and is way faster dns server. and opendns comes with many security features, that don't use any resources cuz their network based not some security program running on your pc scanning processes, it just blocks connection to bad domains etc,

then why are you even buying an i7 and wanting to sli your gfx
just go with a quad core intel same socket (really cheap these days cuz of i7 technology is better) andf a decent gfx card, and then scale down the psu
save you some cash
anyways in canada you could build a really nice system for around 400$ no case/monitor
quad core is cheap, ddr2 is cheap, and meh ddr3 is nice but not worth the price, not much performance increase, so ya get a motherboard that support ddr2 and 3, and etc and that board should last you awhile, and then when i7's become cheap upgrade to that

I've never had a problem with ordering PC parts online. No DOA's etc. Maybe I'm just lucky that way.
Most of my stuff goes bad over time. I do a lot of my shopping by brand and read up on a lot of reviews before I even order. If something has a regular history of being DOA then I wont even consider buying it. Corsair memory is one of those items, just as an example (Kingston for life!). :P
I will never own a Seagate hard drive ever again. Had two of them take a shit on me about 2 months after the warranty expired, and I'll never own an ASUS motherboard ever again.
The majority of the parts in my current PC other than the cpu, mobo, memory, and vid card are all several years old and have more than paid for themselves with how long they've lasted. The last thing I had take a shit on me was my GTX280, but I was looking for a reason to get an ATI card anyway so it worked out.

everything is huge
i set the icons to small, i set the taskbar and startmenu icons to small, i turn off the windows action center, and a few other tweaks
also you know w7 is the first ms os to actually allow you to remove built in components like ie and media player and etc
in the other os, it wouldn't actually remove ie from the os, just hide it

Might want to fix that CPU overclock... lol
Detected at 2.67 not 3.33...
it's overclocked, that's i7 technology putting it in idle mode or w/e, I don't know technical shit so look it up if you don't believe me.

CPU throttling... disable it in your motherboards BIOS settings. Otherwise you're not really getting much benefit out of overclocking.

ya i never use that shit, i don't care about saving power i want my hardware running at full power

you don't have to run your card that hard 24/7 it runs @ 3.33 in-game so works fine for me.

Sadly it doesn't work that way, computers are not cars. It's harder on your CPU to have the power fluctuations than it is to run it at a constant. Not only that you're not seeing any real benefit out of overclocking with CPU throttling enabled.
And with it you really don't know if your overclock is truly stable. I doubt you ran any kind of stress test to check for that (IE: Prime95).
Also, your CPU probably isn't running at full 3.33 while your gaming. CPU Throttling changes your clock speed based on CPU load.
I know I'm probably wasting my time trying to explain all this to you but don't brag about awesome temps with an overclocked CPU if you haven't gone through the proper process.
Hell with all the little details involved in tweeking BIOS settings for a proper overclock, I doubt you even overclocked at this point with as little as you know about computers. Any overclocker worth their salt would know what CPU Throttling is and to turn that shit off.

I followed proper procedure and according to the faq it doesn't effect performance, switching from in-game to cpuid i read my cpu @ 3.33 so I don't see the problem.

I see little benefit to minor i7 OCs considering turbo boost basically does the same thing.
