Anyone have one? Pros and cons? I've heard to at least get the 10.6" so it has a full qwert keyboard, but other than that I'm in the dark.

About the netbooks: personally I hate them. Notebooks are ok, netbooks are useless, pointless... Theres no such goal what you cant reach with a notebook, and yes, SIZE MATTERS! ==> your girlfriend can explain you why she prefer the bigger stuffs instead of the small jokes. Shitty hardware, shitty monitor... way to fail imo. An old and slow laptop is still better for everything you want to do with a netbook, than the netbook itself.

This is pretty much obvious for me as well. My biggest problem is the screen size. ~10" is a joke, useless for web browsing, useless for editing documents, useless for movies, for everything. If you want to do such things, with the same efficiency, you can do that on a pda or a smartphone, its pretty much the same experience if you have ever tried both.
Under 14" you are fucked in my point of view, and its based on my own experiences. When netbooks became trendy, got one, and after a week I sold it because no matter what I wanted to do on it, it made me sad. I like using my iphone, I like using my notebook and my desktop, but netbooks are for gays who are proud of their baby size prick.
Thats my 2 cents about these trendy stuffs.

alot of app's don't scale correctly to that size, so hence gui options and windows get cut off.

alot of side scrolling to view the web lol

they really are cheap, alot of schools and etc buy them cuz they r cost effective, vs no pc experience

they ship those things to villages in Africa for schools and shit.

acer is shit i've done a few acer netbooks and aspire and shit, cheap hardware, and the netbook just feels cheaply made all around, keyboard etc, screen, ram, hd, cpu

I'm not a mac fag, I just like that phone. Because it fits to my needs. I like touchscreens, and theres no other pda or phone on the market wich gives you the same touchscreen feeling. Every other has to be pushed, pushed and pushed till it finally gets your command, but iphone is so smooth, its a total different world. I have jailbreaked my iphone because there are many things in it what did not satisfied me, and just like many others do, I am always open-minded to fix it with non-apple programs. I believe this proves that I am not just following a trend, but I like to shape everything to my taste because thats what really matters to me, not the trend itself.

You're free to hate whatever you want, but in this case this is pointless, dumb and you're just following a trend of ignorance if you keep up this mentality. :P
My point was plain and simple as fuck: what is easy to use and whats not. So maybe you shall take a second turn and try to mock the facts I listed above, and not a thing you dont have, dont use it daily, and also dont like. ;) Usually you guys are really clever and have a great logic (and I like that), but this time your ignorance won, not your brain imo. :)

a regular notebook is fine, its not to big in anyway imo, and u don't to have cut away from usability just to get more compact smaller size. standard student notebook costs like 600$ vs $300, but imo you get more use and less frustration for double the money

but i dont see $600 as being very much is the thing, $300 ppl spend on a game console or a cellphone or a camera

I dunno, a netbook could have its uses.

A netbook with a 12" screen would actually be wide enough to do most things, it runs at 1366x768, which is about the width I have my browser window when I normally surf. Plus it would be great for when riding the train or bus, where a conventional laptop is too big. The 12" might be too big for that too?

I have an mp3 player that can play video and shit but a 3.3" screen just seems too tiny.

Plus, since I have to surf and chat while watching series/movies, I could actually start watching shit on my tv.
