haha well i d/led all the seasons of the old highlander show and movies, watched the movies and watched the 1st season of highlander

merely for old schoolness! lol i grew up watching that show, that was cool shit back then, also its funny to watch them nowaday cuz back then that was good, but now adays special effects and action / cameras way better (and others)

the office i have only seen up to season 3, i never really liked the show, i started watching it cuz ppl were talking about it and i had no clue wtf they were talking about, more curiousity

best sci-fi show ever is bsg, hands down, it was done well, i'm not really a sci-fi tv show person, i don't like star-trek and etc, all those other ones, stargate, w/e etc

i'm a science and space nerd =p so the universe, and all those other documentaries, stephen hawking, national geographic folder has like 6 or so shows about the univese and space.

I was like 12 when it was on TV, and I got it via torrent a year ago again. Maybe its simply terribad, but for me, it was full of intrigue, surprises in the story line and really good OST. Thats why I still like it.

plus hd space to keep all those shows in full HD 1080p, i need to change to a tall tower, or server tower, and load it with 1 TB drives.

back to the uploading, there no good hosts around, filefront imo is one of the best hosts, but all it takes it some fag to report a file and they ban your account, also delete your files if not downloaded in 30 days, its just to much work to maintain a library of show's on a free public host.

How big of a file server do you use? I'm thinking about setting one up just for music and shows etc but the media PC I have set up in my living room atm is shit and won't cut it.

you don't need a high end pc for that really, i was gonna use my old pc for that, but to lazy to get a p/s

mostly need large storage capacity, and since its server, u'd want in in raid with parity, so your data is safe

I know it doesn't need to be a high end PC, I was asking more how many HDs he had and how he configured them. I have pretty much unlimited access to HDs at my work for no cost.

lol that excessive for a simple file server i'm assuming to access across your network from various sources, ps3/xbox 360, multiple pc's etc

you need as much space as you do, lol it all depends what your storing, HD movies files like what 4.5gb /hr ?

i'd get a tall tower or a server tower, and load it with 1tb drives, (ya 500g drive perform better but you want mass storage not access times and read/write)

i'd prolly reccommend gigabit network to be set up between everything you can, dunno if ps3/xbox lan is gigabit, but ya you could buy card for the pc's if your lan (on-board or card isn't gigabit)

simple file server can run a desktop os, if you really want to get all high tech you could set up a gateway server and shit and have some security for your server, and be able to access it from the internet, like say at a friends house or something

imo giving internet connection to your homeserver ends in a tight brandwith limit and makes almost all your efforts unnecessary, as long as we dont have 100mbit or more bandwith for our everyday shit
