$800 of it at least.

Price limit: $1000ish

Demands/Minimums:
Core 2 Duo 2 GHz
1440x900 m(aybe the 1280 if i can plug into my mega monitor)
Video: GeForce something? (L2...)
Memory: 3 gb sounds good
Hard drive: 120GB+

Which brand gives me that without extra shit?

The best I find is Sony but they want to give me Graphics Media Accelerator x3100. um no?

Shit. I can buy this laptop whenever i want. like tonight but can't find what I need.

I need to run Adobe CS3 with Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign all at once.

And of course a L2 siege 100 ppl+ (on low detail) since my other comps can't. But L2 is slightly less important. But if I'm spending a grand, I might as well, nahmean?

Simply: yes.

But my budget went from $100 to $1000.

And I'll post a lesbian action pic for any real advice.

Or you could just start up the alpha hetero male shit since the other topic is at 12 pages...

YOUR CHOICE.

For a thousand bucks you can get a pretty decent lap top from any major manufacturer. How big a screen you want, and how heavy/bulky?

Weight doesn't matter too much.

I just remembered that I get a student discount through Dell

so I guess the choice now is GeForce or Readeon?

>< Fucking graphics cards lol!

Probably just thinking out loud. I fucking love computer shopping. This will be my fouth (piece of shit, but fourth piece of shit!)

Seems to me what you really wanna look out for is as much RAM as possible - running Photoshop alone is intensive on memory, running all three of those at once is gonna drain your systems memory somewhat. I'm running on 4 gig at the moment I think which is fine for working on 300 DPI images of standard sizes (A4, A3 etc).

Processor would be your secondary consideration I spose, and graphics card would seem to factor in little seeing as they dont do much for L2 or any of the Adobe software (although, yes, CS3 does benefit from a 3d chipset).

I'd be curious when you get CS3 to know if you suffer any brush lag when you set the tip to brush size rather than the brush icon.

Asus or Dell xps

I have an Inspirion 1705 for two years, no problems When I had better internet I could run easily 4 support toons on L2.

Max out ram for sure

hrmm

a laptop for doing graphic design......

totally out of your price range...but that would be a mac notebook you would need...

also you'll need a tablet, haha and a outlet to plug into cuz battery life ftl! specially running a system so intense for the app's you want to run all the same time.

i assume'd with cs and etc your going to school for some sort of digital design class

here check this out:
http://www.blogcatalog.com/discuss/entry/is-it-good-to-buy-laptop-under-1000

basically all they reccommd are asus, toshiba, acer laptop,
-core 2 duo cpu, (4mb L2 cache)
-fast fsb (fsb = front side bus) (match the speed with your ram speed if possible)
-lots of ram, (ddr2, you'll need the higher end ddr2 the speed is in mhz)
-not shared ram with video (video needs its own ram),
-big hd (sata, for speed)
-and if u want anything else make sure it has it (like wifi, dvd drive, w/e you want or etc etc)

ps any gfx designer i know, they do some work on their laptop but majority is done on their desktop, cuz they need like nice monitor, etc big desktop space, most use multi monitor setup's (so they can have different layer or etc of what their working on on the different screens.

generally speaking nvidia cards out perform the ati card slightly but at a huge price influx, ati/amd has always been about performance vs price ratio.

so when your looking at laptop imho to save money and stay within your budget and still get a decent machine, i would look for one with amd chip sets (cpu) and ati chip sets (video card)

vs one with intel chip sets (cpu) and nvidia chipsets (video card)

the intel+nvidia i believe will cost you more, at least it is so with desktops

also thing about laptops is their isn't much you can upgrade with em so imo you want to go and buy more then you need, like cpu speed etc wise so that way 2-3 years later its able to run new programs that are heavier etc

Yeah and you need a web cam attatchment so these guys on here can watch your ""hot" lesbo action".

Don't forget the ultimate in performance for your laptop... a rainbow sticker!
