If im running quadcore cpu and 4gb ram I should get 64 bit vista to take full advantage of memory, right?
WiGgLr
August 11th, 2008, 10:46 AM
right, but still worth having XP as a dual boot option.
Check out EasyBCD for configuring that

yes, but truth be told it doesn't even matterin my opinion
i run my 64bit cpu at 32bit cuz to me til the games and applications start running as 64bit theres not really much point
but if for some reason u need to access that ram then ya u need 64bit, but at 32bit 3.2gb or w/e it maxes at is fine

The RAM cap includes your RAM on your GFX-card too...

32bit Operating systems only address 4 gigs total (including ram on other devices/components within the system.) without the use of a PAE switch (which is annoying.)
So yeah, in order to fully use 4gigs of ram you need 64bit vista or xp.
I don't know of many incompatibility issues honestly but dual booting a 32bit os would probably be a good idea.

I'm running 4 gig of system ram + video card ram on a 64 bit proc/OS. Have found 0 compatability issues in the year I've been operating it.

No official date set on D3, but it's likely late 2009/early 2010. They've gotta finish up Starcraft 2 as well which was announced first.
If you don't have any hobbies that make use of your computer then all there really is left to do is play games >.> if you're bored of all current games then you're probably fucked.

Unless you like racing games, I honestly couldn't tell you what the hell to play. Try some FPS.
Also I hope you got a nice screen if you have a sick nasty gaming rig.

If I was gonna play racing/FPS I would just fire up the xbox which I also dont play. I use Dell UltraSharp 19inch screens on all my computers. Pretty much the best screen money can buy.

I live in just about the most hillarious part of this area because in certain places you can still find hicks with stupidly large trucks not hauling anything... and then there are the stupid lifted trucks which make me laugh so much when you see em parked outside tim horton's while they are all chain smoking.
hell, you even see nascar blankets being used as curtains in the windows from time to time.

haha ya japan and korea have like standard 50mb/s bandwidth for like the lowest service.
dont they have fibre straight to their homes to? (cuz its so like packed and dense fibre is economical to use it their)
here with my isp, the main line is fibre, and fibre to all the communities, then coax from the box in each community to the homes.
you can pay an arm and a leg for fibre straight to your home or business...but its insanely expensive.
