So I've had my Zune 80 gb for just a couple of days, and I'm already extremely happy about my choice of music player. I used to rock a creative zen, but after about 4 years of heavy use it's gone down to about 20 minutes of battery life + random upkeep every 2 weeks or so. I love the slimness of this new one along with the very nice sized screen (I feel like I'm watching the videos on an actual screen, not some small as square that the iPods have). I've even made 5 hard core apple fans decide to wish for a Zune for xmas, and if they don't get it they're gonna go out and buy one.

Anyways, I was mostly wondering if anyone else has bought the 80 (even though the there is a shortage of them currently), or the new flash ones and even the old 30 gb and what your thoughts are on them :>

Indeed the Zune is probably better (the Ipod touch is cool tho, even completly pointless :P). But mac has a way better advertising campaign and somewhat manage to make people feel like buying their product over others, even tho they're extremely expansive and they're changing the models every 3 months.

All in all it comes down to which company has the best ads and the best look (Ipods looks kinda nicer than Zunes or Creatives products...). And apple is very good at making their product look good.

How is the Zune not user friendly? Is it the huge bold fucking letters that say "Music, Videos, Podcasts) etc? Is it the intuitive up(^)/down(v)/left(<-)/right(->) motion for scrolling instead of a stupid circle motion? Is it the fact that your current choice is highlighted and very bright compared to others? Is it because the screen is much larger than anything apple has released to date (aside from the touch, but I have no idea what size screen that horrid thing has). Is it because you can switch from artist to genre to album to anything else you want to sort your music to by simply clicking left or right when you're scrolling through the current menu (last time I remember you have to go back a couple of times on the iPod to do this).

I can see where intuitive controls, awesome sensitivity on the new d-pad (which btw, rocks the socks out of the old one) and a very easy and friendly user interface would confuse you and say that it's not user friendly....OH WAIT, FUCK, NO I DON'T.

iPods blow anus, and that's a proven fact. Aside from people buying iPods due to the whole fad of buying iPods, I see no reason as to why you wouldn't switch to and/or buy a Zune.

best for video, not for music use though (though of course its a music player)

its a bit chunky, but its 800x480, meaning that it runs movies at DVD quality if you want it to. It's also a bit expensive, but its better than the touch by far.

Oh, it also can record stuff from your tv, or you can use it to show movies on your tv... and it has epg so you can record shows like you would with tivo.

poddox was my personal favorite, but thats because when I actually had the original ipod firmware on my ipod and not rockbox(which btw is awesome) it seemed to work the best.
