My husband is like 2nd or 3rd generation born in the US? His grandfather was pure Irishman. We are also missing the O' in our last name. Kinda old news, but when immigrants came over years and years ago, they made them change their last names in hopes that everyone would fit in. They dropped the O's and the Mc's And a lot of times changed the spellings all the way around. This was, you know, like a LONG time ago tho. But yeah. When my family came over we had an O' too :(

I've thought about changing it back. but meh. Giant pain in the ass.
