Square just released their trailer for ffcc. This is the kinda 3rd party support nintendo needs, games that arent fucking ports and built from the ground up so they actually look good on the hardware.

I'm actually really impressed with what they managed to do with the Wii in the game play videos. Thats the first time I've ever looked at a FF game and thought it might be fun lol.

Yea, when people actually put some effort into it you can get a really nice looking game on the wii. This is proof, metroid prime 3, zelda, some developers are just lazy fucks and are porting bullshit over. Once they run out of crap we'll see more games like this

I have no hope for Crystal Chronicles, but I like the idea that Square Enix is putting some games on the wii.

Perhaps a RPG that uses the Gamecube controller will revive some faith in that system :> (I can't be bothered waving that controller around for a RPG, it only works with sports/simulation games :|).

i dont know what you have against the motion controls, especially for an rpg. Im sure they could pull it off really well, take a game like lost magic for the ds. A game that made you draw spells like that would be pretty badass imo. Look at dbz for the wii aswell, the system in that made the game so much more fun.

Having to swing a fucking Wii controller around every time I get into a fucking random combat will make me sell the game, and system, back (and I have never, ever, sold anything relating to video games back). I can handle swinging that little p.o.s. controller around for sports and such, but for RPGs please stay the fuck away from that.

I'll never, ever, touch another zelda game that comes out for the Wii unless they integrate it with the gamecube controller adapter. Honestly, it ruined the entire game for me. Luckily I got the GC version as well :D

no, fuck that. in some hardcore RPG like DQ or FF or whatever, where you actually need to grind levels on random encounters, i would not want to sit there swinging the remote around. but it doesn't make sense to, if it's a real turn-based rpg, maybe if it's some kingdom hearts/tales of symphonia style battle system, i guess it'd work, but for a real FFVII/DQVIII turn based rpg it wouldn't make sense to have to swing that thing around to fight.

I'm none of the above, I just fucking hate swinging the Wii controller around for anything beyond sports games or that Sonic game they came out with.

I still have hopes for the system (RE 4 among a couple of others), it's just extremely awful at it's current state.
