Really badly done, but personally I think schools need to implement drills where they rehearse a scenario that a gunman is on the loose. Those teachers in the article are morons, who the hell pulls a prank like that? That stupid asshole lucky he didnt get shot by someone thinking he is a real gunman.

Man Tengil, I wish I had all the world's knowledge, just like you. It'd be so much easier to point the blaming finger at the only country that's worth talking about :<

Also: lol at the like four teachers that decided to do that to the poor kids (only read the summary up top). It's too bad it gets blown out of porportion.

You should know, since you know everything in the world. Or perhaps most of the shit you type is just bullshit?

I hope people realize that not every state is as stupid as other states ... This was just rediculous and if it had been my son in that school he would be pulled out so fast, heads would spin ... and we'd be moving to a better school district. Some people are just assanine Wig. Fear and paranoia consumes them and they just don't know what to do, so they end up doing stupid shit like this.

You never pretend a drill is reality. All kinds of bad things can happen.

This reminds me the city I moved to this year (moving to another shortly) has had two news stories about cops blowing holes through some guy they probably didn't need to.

Don't run from Green Bay Police!

In the grand scheme of things, is this something you even need to drill against?

Even though it does happen, it's so few and far between and spread across so few schools if you think how many schools there are, I don't think a drill is worth while.

They should do "duck and cover" drills to for when the commies attack. That might happen too. Oh, and a heating boiler explodes drill. That might happen. What about a knife attack; would that be a separate drill to a gun attack?

There is nothing like a good drill to keep people paranoid. Then after all the different drills happen maybe there will be a little time left for some teaching.

Actually knowing exactly what to do in a crisis situation is what keeps paranoia away.

A fire drill, yes. A mad gunman on the lose drill; how do you prepare for that? Should everyone leave in an orderly fashion whilst Jeff McCrazy guns them down.

Thankfully, and this has been said before, events like this are so infrequent that it is hugely unlike that any one person will be directly affected by it in their lifetime. A drill would serve little purpose and it would be almost impossible to quantify the benefit.

Shit happens, but why worry about the 0.00000001% chances in life.
(statistics correct at the time of me making them up)

Well Im not an expert on urban warfare, but I would think everyone staying away from doors/windows, locking doors and windows etc etc. Im not saying that this is some kind of complicated drill that you need to practice 1000times before you get it right, but in the moments of crisis, panic tends to set in, and all of a sudden people are doing things that arent common sence. I think a drill would give people a general idea of what to do in such a situation, where every second in cruical.

People practice walking out of the building during fire drills, because research has shown these simple drills really do help. Why shouldnt there be an "armed intruder" drills?
