Alright so I've got these Logitech 5.1 speakers and I wanna connect them to my computer. Windows tells me my soundcard is a Creative EMU10k1 Audio Processor (WDM). Along the back it has five plugs, and yes, the speakers have the three plug thingies that match their colours up with the plugs on the back.

However I can only make sound come out the center speaker. Anyone got any tips?

get the correct sound driver for you card, and look for the tab that allows you to choose the output type. Change it from stereo to dolby 5.1.

MSN me if your still stuck, i'll walk you through it.

I find the best solution is to wear a diaper. It catches all the shit for you, and while it does leave you walking around with a nasty mess, it's better than having to clean your underwear off later.

lol I can't believe how unsupported their OEM card is...gonna be at this all night baby!

Oh and for anyone else that tries to look into this... it's an SB0220 - unsupported by the Creative main site. My drivers seem to be fine, it's just that stuff like the AudioHQ software won't recognise it so I can't set it up to output as 5.1 properly.

Can you go through the control panel? Sounds and Audio Devices->Advanced under Speaker Settings and then 5.1 in the dropdown.

And I'm sure I'll make a third or fourth, considering I do it quite on purpose.

EXILE, I've got Logitech ones...they are ummm....Logitech Z-640. I'm fairly certain it was a problem with my soundcard - in the end I just took the card out cause my computer had started having fits and not booting up. Gone back to on board audio and it makes me sad in the ears. :S

The sound is only coming out of the center speaker?

I doubt its your soundcard in this case.. but I guess it could be.. multiple speakers don't have to be in an environmental setup to make sound. The point of failure sounds like its hardware.. either the speakers aren't connected properly, or aren't configured properly.

I had this problem once when someone was trying to use a digital line input when its just a reg audio jack. Hard to say for sure but I seriously doubt its a driver issue.

1. Attach the one working speaker to the rim of a hula hoop.

2. Put the hoop around your neck.

3. Move your neck and shoulders quickly from side to side until hula hoop starts to rotate around neck.

4. Maintain cervical oscillations.

5. Voila 360 degree sound.

lol I was actually kinda hoping you'd pop up at some point Mr. Tech Support, but I got fed up with it a while back and I'm just gonna keep them on the on-board audio until I get my new computer. ~.~
