Yeah, these people are the people who give Christians a bad name. They interpret th e Bible totally wrong. The epitome of ignorance. The best part of all people like this is: the Church has never declared officially that anybody has gone to hell.

What the fuck is up with these people? I don't care what you think, that is so fucked up to mess with the funeral of a person that DIED PROTECTING THE FREEDOM OF SPEECH THAT KEEPS THESE PEOPLE FROM GETTTING THEIR ASSES THROWN IN JAIL AND EXECUTED.

HAHAHHAHAHAHAHHA , look at the fools. Deaf and blinded by mistold faith ( if that makes any sence). I agree with black they do give christans a bad name. But what really saddens me is how they have completely fucked up thier kid's lives by feeding them lies upon lies and not really giving them a right for them to chose what they want in life. That is one of the real evils of the world

I have to say I didn't find that funny in the least possible way. It just sickens and pisses me off. I have no right to judge them in their beliefs though I can not help but want to snatch those poor children up to keep them from being anymore poisoned by the hate message these people are screaming. This "church" is no better than the insanely stupid close minded white supremacy groups that preach hate. I can not believe that they think that the best way for them to bring their message to the world is by shoving their twisted views in the faces of the grieving families of fallen soldiers. OMG I can't believe just how angry that made me....

One of the things I’ve noticed after watching a lot of Louis’ documentaries over the past few years, and this one is no exception, is that they are great advertisements for democracy or democratic process. The USA is an easy target for making these kinds of examples of because it seems to pride itself on promoting, beyond all other measures, that it is THE one true democratic society. This self promotion and its sheer size of population is going to make for some oddball combinations of characters, couple this with the fact that the USA is a very young nation and the results are exponential [1492, Chris discovers the Americas ...that’s a cozy 600 years of history, and I’m being generous here]. Europe, the Middle East, and the Far East all have at least a 1000 year head start on politics, ideology, religion, and tolerance and its beginning to show in modern day events and attitudes.

On the subject of religion we can look back through history and see that human beliefs have started more wars, caused more deaths, and have been the cause of more terrorist attacks than any other reason the human psyche can come up with. I could use the example of the thirteen guys that started in the Middle East promoting radical ideas and actions to remove the incumbent governments of their respective countries, and to declare independence replacing them with an entirely new country and government. Nothing unusual here you think, until I mention that the 13 guys were Jesus and his 12 disciples. Depending which side of this ideological fence you sit, Jesus could be viewed as the first in a long line of religious zealots or a terrorist. This struggle is still being fought 2000 years later, and still with no resolution in sight. Regardless of the outcome of the initial struggle the perception of people has changed over 2000 years and there are not many places where Jesus or God is considered a terrorist, in fact it’s documentaries like these that do show how the minority think.

Don’t get me wrong, I do not agree with what the small group depicted in the documentary stand for or hold as moral values, but I am just illustrating that perception of behaviour is dependent on the viewers ideological and moral point of view.

What I actually find slightly more disturbing is the way that they draft their siblings in to the whole scheme and actually teach, use, and to an extent brainwash them into the same mentality as few adults. If I remember correctly there were eleven kids being used as part of that groups so called religious propaganda. These kids will have been bought up with the teachings of the group and also with the same moral values that their parents are using. I’m betting that they haven’t been given the “choice” to attend the pickets or the church services, but have just attended because they know nothing different, it is the accepted norm. Perhaps this is a good example of why there should be legislation about the indoctrination of children into religious organisation prior to the age of 13, but then again a lot of religions have special ceremonies for kids, and they would be the first to complain if any type of organisation tried to legislate them.

So I guess we come back to the original problem, and without sounding like a matrix fan, its choice.

Yeah, those kids are fucking brainwashed. If you watch all the videos he even asks the kids what the signs mean and they have no idea.

The whole time that crazy bitch of a mom tries to put words into the kid's mouths and they have no idea what is going on. It is just kinda disturbing.

The fuck is that supposed to mean? I don't know how "religous" I actually am, but if I do end up rejecting the church in the end, it will be an educated decision rather than a random one. I know just about all there is to know about scripture and what it means.

Except for one thing, the bible wasn't written by Christ (the only true Christian imo). Today's Christians (specifically Right Wing types) are some of the most horrific people on the planet. Christ would not be pleased at the behavior of the so called Christians today.

'Gramps' needs to come out and just tell his family that his teachings are more or less an extension of his hate mongering, and have no real biblical or theological relevance to ANY bible.

And then drink some spicy kool-aid.

The rest of the family can pick up the peices with their combined wealth (maybe the other older ones of the family need some kool-aid aswell to save the youngens).

I'm not one to impose on people's beliefs, and you can do whatever the hell you want to in your own home I don't care. But to take it away from the home, and do the pickett sign thing at dead soldier's funerals is a disgrace to the family and the deceased. That's just fucked up. If you don't like it here, get the hell out.

I am suprised that they haven't gotten shot or killed yet, but also I don't think they will be around much longer. Seirously, besides incest, who the hell is going to mate with those people. No wonder that bitch had 11 kids.

The entire time I was watching after the first video I just wanted to load up prisoners that had been jailed up for 20+ years, give them 3 Viagra each, and set them loose on anyone in the family that is able to think on their own and make an educated decision. But I do feel sorry for the younger ones that are about to get brainwashed without a chocie.

Fair enough.

P.S. (to all) Sorry to "turn it into a Will thread" (heaven forbid I express an opinion) my aim was only to point out that many so called Christians have no idea what Christianity is supposed to be about. That includes the people in the clips btw, whos actions I do not support.

It kinda does really. Most British people my age probably read the bible at school, probably had a daily assembly services where biblical readings were given and you sang hymns. The better free schools in the UK were (and maybe still are) Church of England, or Catholic schools.

You rarely get the choice I mention in my previous post as a child, your parents choose for you. If making sure their children got the best education they could afford meant that they had to visit church every Sunday for a couple of hours while their children visited Sunday School, then they would probably do it. Especially seeing as they were more than likely brought up the same way.

It's relatively more recently that people have stopped being quite so hypocritical in the UK, but at the same time, the standards of education in school-leavers has dropped.

To be perfectly honest, any version of Christianity is as stupid as this one.

The main reason why shit like this happens is because of misinterpretation of the Bible.

I totally get it. I was brought up in a very orthodox environment myself (Greek/Russian Orthodox). I was actually an alter-boy for 8yrs believe it or not. I resisted going to church as much as I could but in the end I gave in (probably because I got payed for it). Having religion force fed to you does work with some but not with most. I always thought to myself, if God is so perfect, why is he so petty, as to need me to come here to WORSHIP him; that isn't perfect, its narcissistic.
