ended up waiting 'til 11:30 last night to start my research paper, got it done and handed it in today. it came out pretty good. thanks to everyone who made suggestions in that last topic.

we're doing a small speech assignment now, partnering up with someone else in the class and presenting arguments. i got paired up with some chick, and we were trying to figure out what to do, so she asked me where i worked, told her gamestop, and she suggested doing something about video games. we ended up coming up with an argument between violence and addiction in games, where she'd make the argument that video games have too much of an influence on people, and i'd argue against it.

so, considering the quality of the sources i got last time, anyone have any ideas for this kind of thing? i told her i'd be emailing her some resources. i know i'll be giving her the daedalus project site for some of the data analysis he's done, though most of the addiction articles would favor my side of the argument rather than hers. i'm also looking for any article pertaining to the teenager's shootings who claimed to be influenced by grand theft auto, i know i've seen it on gamespot.com, but i can't seem to find it yet. perhaps some of the legislative measures taken against gaming as well? i know i can find those on gamespot, too. i pretty much have the addiction aspect covered on both ends of the argument, due to the research i did for my paper, and i'm good on my side of the argument for the violence issue. for her side of the argument, i was just thinking she needed to cite sources for some popular incidents that were related to gaming.

if anyone has any input, or hopefully some good links, please share. thanks again for the help with my last paper.

Well I already threw in the daedalus project last time so thats all I really have. But you could try doing a google news search for video game violence leading to real life violence.

Video game violence doesn't lead to rl violence. If you think so, you are a communist.

Not entirely accurate seeing as it's western people who are thinking that way.

Well, how I understood it was that he and his partner have to present on both sides of the argument.
