360 also supports 1080p but it really doesnt make much of a difference with most tvs between 1080i and 1080p.

I don't see why HDMI is such a big thing. I'm getting HD out of Component and it leaves the HDMI port free for my Satellite TV

the only reason people would want hdmi on 360 is if they have the hddvd player add on. you can only get 1080p through vga atm on a 360. some people claim to have found another way through component. but generally, hdmi = 1080p and slightly better quality. i mean youll also get the better audio quality i spose compared to standard audio cables the 360 comes with but again. the biggest thing is for the hddvd player add on. tbh, microsoft is almost certainly doing this to offer a beefier 360 to better battle out with sony for the techies who wants the hottest shit, while they try and snap away all the exclusives to win over the people more interested in the games. basically ms is trying to smother sony any way possible. instead of a pricecut for the 360, this is arguably an even better deal and its still less than even the cheap ps3 (which are being quickly discontinued by retailers).

Well until my 1080i 32" LCD gets replaced and moved into my bedroom, I guess that I have absolutely no need to use HDMI from my 360.

I've heard the same quote for every single PS game, as well as most popular PC games. Look what's happening. Each week I get a boner when I see how many more titles are switching from being exclusive to coming out on the 360, and sometimes even switch platforms completely and become 360 exclusives.

There is no such thing as a top-rated game developer anymore... it's becoming like the film industry.


The system is far from dead, that would be like declaring the Triple Entente or the Central Powers the victor a year before the war ended.

Kojima would be much more inclined to make his games on both consoles in my opinion. As far as square-enix is concerned. I consider it unlikely unless microsoft wants to spend massive amounts of money.

Even then, it seems like Microsoft is spending ALOT of money on this console.

I find it sad that the small competitor is the only "real" successful one at this point as far as the bottom line.

ms doesnt have to pay most if anyof these developers to switch over. when you look at the sales, people need to consider the following. they spend millions of dollars developing a game. now, if they release it on a ps3, they have like 1.4 million people in their consumer base. even if everyone bought the game that owns that console, theyd still be pushed to make much of a profit. on the flip side, if they make the game for 360 as well, they open up the 11 million units there as well. putting their consumer base at about 12.4 million. so this way, even if 1/4 people bought the game, theyre still selling ass loads more games, and making a profit. game developers arent just game developers. theyre a company, and their duty is to their shareholders and the survival of the business. theyll go where the money is, and thats going to be where the consoles are.
