Vic, my mate has the 06 Civic Sport with that Mugen kit :p I also thought you'd done a really good job editing those pics together until I realised it was on the mugen webpage :/

Yeah I didn't do much to it, it was originally made as a website design template (the sig was a header with different text) to show the client what it could look like..

The civic sport doesn't qualify as a true mugen if it only has the lip/body kit.. Mugen takes civics and completely re-tunes em, only way to truly be a mugen..

But yeah, its ripped right off that pic.. oh well

Heh yeah. And yer, he only has the front grille, front lip, skirts, rear lip, badges and ventillated visors atm. Theres not too much around for that model civic yet from mugen, except for one of their "special packs" which are absolutely outrageously unaffordable... :p I was looking into getting a Jazz (Fit) and doing something similar to the Spec D. But yer, Iunno. It's hard to find a reasonable small car in Australia. I'd like something euro like the Citroen C4 Sport but I cant afford it :(

I know a dude with a Fit.. hes really happy with it.. there will only be 400 07 mugen civics produced this year.. not a supercar but still.. they outperform S2k's.. O_O

I'm waiting on the release of the Type R. I'd never buy it, but yeah I wanna see what it's like. Spoon apparently want to work with honda to produce a Fit Type R aswell :p

Damarus
March 2nd, 2007, 02:18 AM
RSX is the yank integra? If so a mates got one so nah can't do that :p I need to be different.

Victis

Lol classic. I only started talking about it to derail the original thread :(

Anyway as far as RSX, yeah mate has an 02ish type R so I can't look at teg's since I have this thing with being different :p

Once you restore it its good to go... takes some major work if you cant find one in good shape..

What about an SRT4? ... technically a Neon but blazing fast for its price..

Mini cooper?

Mini cooper?Yeah but thats the thing, after my current car I'm over the work required to get an older car back in racing shape.

SRT4 we don't have in Aus. Actually, we don't really have any neons at all @.@

As far as evo goes, I can only afford an older evo, and I want to try and get a car that's as new as possible so all I have to worry about, is servicing and any modding I decide to do.

While some of these cars are a lil common, they fit the rest of the criteria (small, reasonably powerful 4cyl, stylish/sporty) I've looked at the Ford Focus Zetec (Can't afford the XR-5 :(), The Mazda 3 SP23, Honda Jazz (Fit) [This one I'm still researching because the car itself is slow, and I'm looking into a Spoon crate K20a for it], Citroen C4 Sport (which fell out of price range :(), VW Jetta FSi (Which hurt on price again, and I heard some reliability issues) and I thought about the R34 Skyline GT (N/A 6cyl - slightly older than the rest but still very sexy, also could never afford a GTT or R)

Is the mini cooper avail over there?

Wide wheel base.. but expensive

WHY IN GOD'S NAME WOULD YOU WANT A FRONT WHEEL DRIVE CAR?

Damarus
March 5th, 2007, 09:10 PM
Rear wheel drive cars are the epitome of shit. A/4WD cars such as the evo are too expensive - I'm not a spoilt yank with rich parents...

Mini Coopers are restricted in Australia to poo pushing faggots who put rainbow stickers on their cars.

FWD is the epitome of shit.

Polar if you want to be unique get a dato.

Damarus
March 7th, 2007, 05:07 AM
Dato has been done to death... I know too many Datto rebuilds and SR20DeT conversions runnin down tracks and streets in Aus. And rear wheel drives are for burnouts and spinning out around corners.

I drove the VTi Jazz (Fit) today. As expected my current Pulsar shits all over its face and then licks it back off, but I haven't come across a similarly sized/priced car that this doesnt happen to. Bottom end was expectedly weak, but it pulled more than I thought it would for what it is stock. Jackson Racing have teemed up with Rotrex on a couple of supercharger kits for the Jazz and Mugen have one also. Ontop of that Spoon have a crate K20a package, but I'd probly rather the easier option of supercharging if I went with this car...

Gotta get out over the next couple of weekends and test drive all the other 4 cyls I can find in my price range, and maybe look at an importer friend of mine to see how good his older Evo's and maybe GTiR's are... Never know might find something worthwhile even though I'd really rather a new car.

Nothing rice about a wankel tbh

Only thing you might have trouble with is finding a mechanic that won't charge you out the ass for mechanical work :/

lol @ even considering a Jazz, you may as well get a Honda GoldWing motorbike.

Polar, don't waste your money on a new car, maybe think about modifying what you have? or just go let jesse's tires down and piss in his fuel tank. Both would be a laugh :P

About front wheel drive cars. I would rather have RWD because I don't want fucking 7.0 on the richter scale vibrations coming up through my hands when I'm trying to take a turn.

Damarus
March 10th, 2007, 05:49 AM
- My current car is modified a fair bit, I want a new car though because old cars just keep having problems.

- Hondas are superior built cars enginewise to most of the other cars I can afford. I've watched some of the work spoon and mugen have done with the Jazz and the potential is there, and the market is there so I don't have to worry about too much custom fabricating when I mod it (If I got one of course).

- Don't like Aussie muscle much, I'm a japanese car fan and I like not spending an arm and a leg on petrol :p I drive a lot..

- FWD's are better in the wet/gravel/snow because of the reduced weight transfer with less traction, compared to RWDs. It's easier to correct wheelspin in a FWD because loss of acceleration transfers weight onto the front wheels, while it increases wheelspin for the RWD. RWD's can pendulum through multiple left-right transitions, possibly causing spin outs, while you can maintain stability in a FWD while on the throttle.

With minimum spent on my current cars handling (springs, shocks, swaybar) I outcorner basically all RWD's short of ones with tonnes more money invested in their handling. If you have vibrations in your suspension... your car has problems. My FWD doesn't vibrate at all under hard corners. Vibrations are generally caused by:
- Out of balance wheels,
- Driveshaft imbalance (more common on RWD fyi),
- Broken collapsed engine mounts.

As a final resort I will say 2 things.

Name one supercar with front wheel drive.

Front wheel drive burnouts look gay.

I prefer the drive of RWD over FWD, imo tbh. Plus I thoroughly enjoy slideing around corners and going into controlled spins ect. :D
