Using AJAX, whenever a new post comes up, a new row will pop up in real-time so you don't have to click refresh.

Just added the link to the quick links menu, if you use it there it doesn't spawn a new window

Using AJAX, whenever a new post comes up, a new row will pop up in real-time so you don't have to click refresh.
nice implementation of AJAX, however its real-time......? to my understanding does that require continual requests to the server? or does it work in some other way?

That how Ajax works, it sends small requests to the server so that it doesn't have to refresh the entire page.

yes, but doesn't simultaneous requests drain resources on the server similarily?

If it's continually requesting data.... isnt that being a resource whore in the end?

why is the dropdown menu gone? it disappeared sometime yesterday...

Until it becomes a problem, who cares? I think it's 1 request every minute (per user)

Ah I see, then I don't care... im just a noobie nerd with AJAX and I was wondering exactly how it worked
